Denmark officially approves FSD (Supervised)

Denmark's Road Traffic Authority (Færdselsstyrelsen) has formally approved FSD (Supervised), after which the feature began rolling out to owners of eligible vehicles. According to the available information, the approval was announced on 9 June 2026; the feature is enabled on vehicles with the Hardware 4 (AI4/HW4) platform, and a European variant of FSD v14 with a localized interface and adaptation to local traffic rules is delivered.

The Danish regulator relied on the type-approval framework originally issued by the Dutch authority RDW in April 2026. The authority stated that, after a thorough review and assessment of the technical documentation, it agreed with the RDW's assessment that the system would contribute positively to road safety. Denmark became the fourth EU member state to approve FSD (Supervised), following the Netherlands, Lithuania and Estonia.

The approval is provisional. According to officials, the system has not yet been approved by the European Commission, so the permission remains temporary. If the Commission later rejects the software, the original Dutch type approval lapses after six months, which would cause the national permits of individual countries to expire. For owners in Denmark, therefore, FSD (Supervised) has become available now, but the feature's final status in the EU depends on a decision by the European Commission.
