Tesla releases FSD (Supervised) v14 — build 2026.20.5.1

Tesla is continuing the rollout of FSD (Supervised) version 14 in the United States. The recent build 2026.20.5.1, released on 29 June 2026, brought an FSD update to owners of vehicles on the HW3 hardware platform for the first time in more than a year — in the form of what is called v14 Lite.

According to Tesla's own description, v14 Lite "distils" the capabilities of full v14 on the more powerful HW4 platform into a lighter model for HW3: the system on the older hardware learns to handle scenarios by taking the HW4 version's behaviour as a guide. This makes it possible to bring some of the improvements to HW3, including reinforcement learning and offline models.

The update lists new capabilities: parking, unparking and reversing, as well as "Arrival Options" — a choice of where to stop (a parking lot, the street, a driveway, the curbside). The system's responsiveness has been improved across a range of situations — merges and forks, pedestrian interactions, traffic lights, vehicle cut-ins — and the number of false slowdowns has been reduced. Speed profiles were added, including a conservative mode.

At the time of the build's release, the update was reaching early-access vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The arrival of v14 Lite for HW3 widens the set of cars on which the current FSD line is available beyond the newest hardware, although the feature still requires continuous supervision by the driver and is not fully autonomous.
