FSD (Supervised) widely available in the US

FSD (Supervised) is available to owners of compatible Tesla vehicles in the United States. This is the system's home market: it is deployed most widely here and receives updates the earliest.

In its status, FSD (Supervised) remains a driver-assistance system rather than autonomous driving. Responsibility for control lies entirely with the person behind the wheel: the driver must keep their hands on the steering wheel, stay attentive to the road and be ready to intervene at any moment. The name "Supervised" directly reflects this requirement of continuous human oversight.

Updates to the system are distributed over the air (OTA): new software versions are delivered to the vehicle without a service visit. This mechanism allows functionality and coverage to be expanded gradually on cars that have already been sold.

The US status matters as a benchmark for assessing rollouts abroad. In other countries, the deployment of FSD (Supervised) depends on national and supranational regulatory procedures, whereas in the US the system is already in broad consumer use. The requirement that the driver retain full control of the vehicle remains unchanged regardless of the market.
